Cumberland Local Heritage Awards & Rebate Program

The Cumberland Local Heritage Awards seek to recognise the work undertaken by owners of heritage properties, to involve and educate school children about local history and heritage, and to promote the value and benefit of heritage to the local community.

There are four categories within the Local Heritage Awards, being:
Category 1: Best maintained – heritage listed property.
Category 2: Restoration and Development – of a heritage listed property.
Category 3: Historesearch – Researching our local history. Open to high school students and individuals, this category is for research of a local person, group or aspect of Cumberland’s history that relates to the 2017 National Trust Heritage Festival theme of “Having a Voice “. Entrants are encouraged to be imaginative and present their work in either a written or visual format. Visual entries may utilise a creative technique such as digital media, traditional arts or photography. Entries must show originality and primary research.
Category 4: Keeper of the Stone. Primary school children are invited to enter this colouring-in competition.

Entries in the Cumberland Local Heritage Awards must be accompanied by an official entry form and specify the category being entered.
