15 Neil Street Merrylands - Draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA2024/0004)

Council invites you to have your say on a draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) prepared for the land at 15 Neil Street, Merrylands (the subject site). 

Development consents issued for Development Applications DA2012/493/1 on 28 October 2013 and DA2022/0131 on 4 August 2022 require that the landowner/s of the land to enter into a VPA. The landowner and developer for the subject site, HB and Sons Pty Ltd, has offered to enter into a VPA with Council.

About the Draft VPA

At its meeting of 17 April 2024, Council resolved to prepare and exhibit a voluntary planning agreement to deliver public benefits, subsequent to endorsing the letter of offer in its meeting on 7 February 2024. Refer to documents section for the Council report, minutes and supporting information.

The preparation of the draft VPA is guided by Council’s Planning Agreements Policy and Guideline. The objectives of the draft VPA require the landowner to dedicate land for open space at no cost to Council and deliver public open space and public domain works in and around the site’s immediate surrounds.

Council values the opinions and suggestions of the community and appreciate your input on the draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) for land at 15 Neil Street Merrylands.

The consultation period runs from Thursday 6 June to Friday 5 July 2024. During this community consultation period, residents are encouraged to submit their comments on the draft proposal. Anyone who wishes to provide feedback on the proposal must do so in writing by 11:30pm Friday 5 July 2024.
