Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival 2024 Wrap-up


The 2024 Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival has come to a close, and it was an extraordinary nine days. People from all over Australia flocked to the Auburn Botanic Gardens to admire the cherry blossoms in full bloom.

Food lovers indulged in a variety of Japanese-inspired dishes, while attendees enjoyed a vibrant lineup of performances. The festivities also featured a celebration of Hello Kitty's 50th birthday, with photo opportunities at the Cherry Arbour and Mt Fuji Torii Gate.

Safe Kids Day!


Round up the kids and head out to Cumberland’s Safe Kids Day on Tuesday 3 September during National Child Protection Week. This free fun day will feature information about body safety and emotional literacy for young children (aged 3-5), plus a range of family activities and meet and greets from local services.

Your Rates at Work


Council has completed works to Phillips Park in Lidcombe where the space underwent a full playground upgrade. As part of the project, new playground equipment with a softfall surface, shade sails and perimeter fencing were installed.
