Lifelong Learning Program 2019 - Term 1

Book or register for one or more of the activities and classes on offer. From yoga and fitness classes through to cooking, singing, learning a new language and more.

Health and Fitness

These classes are very affordable at $7 a class and are held at Community Centres throughout Cumberland. Book one or more classes below.

Wellness Activities

Ages: For seniors over 65 years and people with disability over 18 years

A range of activities are provided including armchair travel, indoor sports, games, singing, craft and more! Get your hearts moving with gentle exercises each day. It could be Tai Chair, Zumba Gold, Move It or Lose It and Chair Aerobics! There are also guest speakers and performers throughout the month. Transport is available.

Yarn Up Monthly Meet Up

Meet up for chat, outing and lunch.

Ages: For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over 50 years or people with disability over 18 years

This is a casual get together for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service users. Transport and lunch is provided.

Silver Surfers - Learn how to surf the internet

Ages: For seniors over 65 years and people with disability over 18 years)

A volunteer is available to assist and teach anyone who is interested in learning how to surf the internet. Learn how to stay in touch with loved ones near and far! Bookings required.

Cooking and Creative Arts

The Flavours of Auburn program is packed full of fun and cooking classes for a whole range of cuisines. 

Cumberland Kitchen Group

Calling all passionate foodies, from home cooks and bakers to professional chefs, to share tips and tricks relating to cooking and baking with like-minded kitchen enthusiasts! Topics can range from ingredients, a kitchen techniques or specific dish that’s a challenge. Note: Please bring an apron.

    Kids Makers Space and Steam Lab - ages 7 - 17 years

    Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) Focus, this is a hands-on space for kids to learn, experiment and engage in STEAM activities. Kids learn to question, explore, experiment and apply these to real world challenges.
