Australia Day celebrations will return to Holroyd Gardens in 2019 with an evening of free entertainment, carnival rides and fireworks from 5pm to 9pm.
Enjoy the best of the West with Australian Idol contestant Tarisai Vushe, X-Factor contestant Jai Waetford and crowd favourites Dauntless Movement Crew dominating the main stage.
“Australia Day is about acknowledging and celebrating the contribution that every Australian makes to our contemporary and dynamic nation,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.
“Australia Day is for all Australians, whether you have lived here a short time or have a long history.
“Cumberland is a place which represents what it truly means to be a part of Australia. As a community, we live together as people from many different backgrounds and cultures.
“The community’s vision for the future of Cumberland is one where everyone is welcome, feels they belong and can succeed, no matter where their personal stories began.
“Australia Day brings together our local community to celebrate what makes us all a part of this wonderful community and country.
“So I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you, your family and your friends, to join in the Australia Day celebrations being held at Holroyd Gardens from 5-9pm on Saturday 26 January.
“Bring your swimmers to keep cool on a giant blow up waterslide and wrap up the day with a bang watching Council’s famous fireworks display.
“Free shuttle buses to the venue will be running at regular intervals between 4.30pm and 10pm. There are two different bus routes that will be operating at different times. Full details are available on the website.
“There will be thrilling amusement rides, delicious food, awesome acts, fireworks and family-friendly fun – something for everyone.”
