The Container Deposit Scheme - Return and Earn - encourages residents to store ‘eligible’ drink containers and return them to a reverse vending machine to receive a 10c refund per container. The scheme commences on Friday 1 December 2017.

Residents will be able to deliver eligible containers to these sites to receive a 10 cent refund per container. The refund is redeemed by being added directly to a designated Paypal account, donated directly to a nominated charity (will vary with each machine) or alternatively, they can redeem the refund receipt which can be used as cash when shopping at Woolworths Supermarkets.
Containers should not be crushed or broken and should have the original label attached to be eligible for the refund.
To find out what containers are accepted as part of this program please visit returnandearn.org.au
Please note this is not a Council program, but a NSW wide scheme introduced by the Environment Protection Authority to reduce the incidence of drink container littering in our community.
Council encourages any resident not wanting to participate in this scheme to continue placing all drink containers in their household recycling bin.
