Phoenix Eye films in partnership with Auburn Youth Centre will be running free, 5 day workshops for women who live, work or study in the Cumberland Local Government Area. These hands-on workshops are designed for participants who are interested in the digital arts - from storytelling to film making.
Over the course of the workshops, you will learn about:
- Creating films,
- Concept development
- Cameras, lighting, and sound recording
What will the outcomes be?
You'll be engaging with the medium of digital stories under the guidance of local film industry professionals. In doing so, you'll learn skills to become a confident and creative leader in your community. The workshop will conclude with a public screening to be launched in early 2020 and you'll be fully supported with equipment with resources to create your art piece.
About the organisers
Phoenix Eye is a Western Sydney-based female-led film and media collective of multidisciplinary artists from culturally diverse backgrounds.
“Auburn Youth Centre is a hub of creative talent and we are grateful to have the support of Council to run creative activities - allowing us to give back to the community by sharing our skills and knowledge, and tell untold empowering stories that are often overlooked in mainstream media”.
