School Holiday Care Program

Our experienced Children’s Services educators can care for your children during the December / January school holidays.

We have prepared a program filled with exciting activities, theme days and workshops, providing a safe and homelike environment for school-aged children. The centres and programs are detailed below.

Booking Information

Bookings close on Friday 7 December 2018 at 4:30pm. Booking fee for Single Digits is $51 per day and for Double Digits $56 per day. A late booking fee of $36 applies after this date per child, per centre.
Book through the Smart Fees website.

Activity Details

Bingo Fun Day

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Held at Sherwood Grange OOSH, the children will engage in a fun filled day with lots of activities, games and prizes to be won. Throughout the day, we will host an array of bingo games for all to get involved! Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Ninja 101

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will be travelling by private bus to Ninja 101 where they will enjoy 2 inflatable ninja courses that include a 22 obstacle course, warped wall, soccer games and basketball slam dunk trampoline. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 8.30am We will return to the centre by 2.30pm. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water in a small bag.

Lego Workshop

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Held at the centre, the Lego workshop is designed to promote children’s thinking, communication, teamwork and creativity through a variety of brick building activities.Please arrive at the centre by 9:30am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Photo Frame Making

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Held at the centre, the children will be encouraged to use their imagination and creative skills to design and produce their very own and unique photo frames. Please arrive at the centre by 10:00am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

The Amazing Race

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Held at the centre, the children will go on an adventure where they will take part in a scavenger hunt full of pit stops, clues and tasks to complete their mission. The day will be filled with trivia, brainteasers, obstacles and team building adventures. Please arrive at the centre by 10:00am. Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

A Taste of Multicultural Australia

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: A taste of Multicultural Australia is where the children can get a taste of Australia’s rich and diverse cultures. The children will engage in mini workshops that focus on the foods, music and crafts from our local community. To ensure they don't miss out, arrive at the centre by 10am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Zone Bowling

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Children will travel by private bus to Zone Bowling in Villawood. They will play one game of bowling followed by lunch. Bowling is a great game for children to get social, have fun and participate in a little healthy competition. and patterns.To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9.30am, we will return to the centre by 2.30pm. Water Gala Day

For both 5 to 9 years - Single Digits and 10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A day for all our Cumberland Council centres to get together and have a great time! The gala day will be held at Ringrose OOSH and will be fun packed with water activities. Be sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet in, as well as bring a towel and a change of clothes for the day.To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9.00am, we will return to the centre by 3.30pm. Rock Climbing

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Portable rock climbing will be coming to us at the centre. The children will have the opportunity to climb up, down and across artificial rock formations. The practice of rock climbing will strengthen the children’s arms, legs and core. Climbing the wall will teach great hand, feet and eye coordination in order to successfully complete their climb. They will have to look, plan and coordinate their hands and feet to get to their chosen spot. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9.30am. 5 Senses Day

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will explore the outside world that shapes children’s development through experiences that they have, which include using their five senses—hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch. Drawing a child’s attention to the five senses and discussing them increases understanding of and communication about the world around us. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9.30am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Wild for Costumes

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Rule the jungle with your roaring wild costumes. Come dressed in wild fancy dress costumes and enjoy the day of fun and interactive experiences, activities and games. It’s a great way for the children to explore environmental issues and learn about wildlife. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9.30am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Jewellery Making Workshop

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will be designing and creating their very own piece of jewellery using an array of material. Why not come in and create your very own, unique ring, pendant, bracelet, necklace or key ring. Jewellery making is a great way for children to experiment with combining different colours, textures and patterns. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Fizzics Education Workshop

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: This is an in centre workshop where the children will have the opportunity to find out how solids, liquids and gasses change when rapidly heated, cooled, combined and much more. Please be at the Centre no later than 9:30am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Oz funland

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will head off to Campbelltown and explore an interactive world that pays homage to Frank Baum’s classic Oz stories. The children will walk through Munchkin land, Cornfield, Forest & Emerald City as the story magically unfolds around them in a Sound & Light show with special effects, character voices, lasers & falling snow! They can also enjoy lots of play, games, and challenges. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9.30am. Water Tournament

5 to 9 years - Single Digits + 10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A day to be held at the centre, the children will be participating in a fun packed day of water games. As individuals and as groups the children will battle it out to complete the tasks at hand. The aim of the day is to have children actively involved, using their problem solving skills, team spirit and competitive nature to achieve their best while having loads of fun with their friends! To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 10am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Go Green

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: A day organised by our Educators at the centre. The children will be participating in a program based around sustainable practices. We will be making pot plants and artworks out of recycled materials as well as exploring various ways to be environmentally aware. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 10am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Bubble Mania Workshop

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Bubble Mania is a fun filled workshop that is hands on. The children will get inside a GIGANTIC bubble and learn about colour spectrum. They will participate in bubble domes, horse shoe bubbles and more. They also make their own gigantic bubbles outside using THREE different types of bubble wands (That cater for all ages and abilities) To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9.30am. Mini Porcelain Plate Making

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Children will use their imagination and creativity skills to decorate their own mini porcelain plates that will be a perfect keepsake. The children will be using different mediums such as paint, sharpie or porcelain markers to draw or write a message on their plates. Creations will be taken home at the end of the day. Graffiti Hats

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A creative day at the centre, the young people will be given the opportunity to scribble, scratch and paint on their own bucket hats through the use of graffiti art. The aim of the day is to encourage positive sun safe practices with the young people while also having fun and getting creative. The hats can also be used by the young people throughout their time at Double Digits! To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 10am. Super Coding Workshop

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: This day will be held at the centre, young people will participate in a coding workshop presented by the team at Super Cody. The young people will be required to code, interact, communicate & cooperate. They will learn curiosity, confidence, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence & reflexivity. The young people will use their imaginations, problem-solving skills, computational, and logical thinking skills to complete a project. PJ and Movie Day

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A day to chill out and enjoy the holidays with their friends. We invite everyone to come in their cozy pyjamas. The day will be organised for the young people to be able to relax and socialise with their friends. We will have a great time watching movies and enjoying homemade healthy movie snacks made by the young people. The young people are encouraged to bring in their favourite movie (rated G or PG) to share with the other young people. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 10am. Peacock Gallery - Auburn Botanic Gardens

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A day out and about in the local area. We will be heading out of the centre and over to the Auburn Botanic Gardens to check out the displays at the Peacock Gallery. After taking a look around the Gallery, we will have some time to participate in fun and games as well as have lunch in the parklands outside the Gallery. Cyber Safety

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A day at the centre, with a special guest! The Granville youth liaison officer will be coming to educate the young people on Cyber safety. The aim of the day is to ensure they are fully equipped to make responsible and informed decisions while using technology. To ensure they don’t miss out on any of the important information, arrive at the centre by 10am. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Canoelands Orchard – Fruit Picking

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: An opportunity to see how a real orchard operates. Canoelands orchard produces nectarines, plums, peaches, tomatoes, passionfruit, blueberries and honey. The tour shows how honey is made and looks at the beautiful farm animals on the property including goats, pigs, chickens and horses. Laser Tag

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: We will be heading out on an excursion to Code Red at Rosehill for a laser tag battle! The focus of the day will be to challenge yourself using strategy and team work to win the battle. Your mission is to protect your base and tag your opponents. Escape down narrow, winding passages through fog and flashing lights, staying out of the line of fire. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9am. Middle Eastern Percussion Workshop

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: The Double Digits crew will have the opportunity to mix it up with some funky instruments in a middle eastern percussion workshop. The aim of the day is to challenge the young people’s understanding of creativity and to strengthen their confidence and imagination through the art of music. Luna Park

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: An exciting day to get out and about in the city of Sydney. Double Digits will be heading off to Sydney’s Luna Park where the young people will have the whole day to jump on and off rides, hang out in Coney Island and enjoy a great day out with friends. The day will be a great way for the young people to build upon their friendships and socialise with different people in a fun packed environment. Yoga

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A day of Zen at the centre. The Educators have organised for everyone to have the chance to participate in a Yoga session. Yoga is a great way for individuals to manage stress, build on their concentration and encourage healthy lifestyles and wellbeing. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 10am. Science and Magic

10 to 13 years - Educators will be organising a fun packed day of science experiments and magic. The young people will have the chance to explore different elements of science and challenge themselves to learn and perform various magic tricks for their friends. Regents Park Community Centre

10 to 13 years - Another day for the young people to head out and interact with their local community. The centre will be going to Regents Park community centre for the day. At the youth centre, the young people will have the opportunity to get actively involved in their local community programs and support groups. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9am. We will return to the centre by 3.30pm. Please ensure you pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea every day as well as plenty of water.

Guildford Youth Centre

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: The young people at double digits will be heading to Guildford youth centre. Guildford youth centre strives to be a place for children and young people to feel valued and supported, share a sense of pride in their local community, and have the resources and opportunities to shape outcomes for themselves and the community around them. While at the youth centre we will share a delicious lunch and participate in a number of fun group activities. Novelty Games Day

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Today the educators will be organising fun novelty games for everyone to participate in. The aim of the day is to get the young people outside and active as well as having a sense of inclusion. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 9am. Movies

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: The young people will be heading out on an excursion to Reading Cinemas Auburn where they will be watching a G or PG movie. The young people will be able to bring in their own snack to take along with them and enjoy while they sit back and relax at the cinemas. To ensure they don’t miss out, arrive at the centre by 10am. Junior First Aid and Emergency Response

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Today a member of Surf Lifesaving Australia will be coming out to the centre to educate our young members of the community on the basics of CPR and emergency response. The aim of the program is to allow the young people to have an increasing awareness of health and wellbeing as well as increase their ability to be socially responsible within the wider community. Go Green
