School Holiday Care Program

Our experienced Children’s Services educators can care for your children during the October school holidays.

We have prepared a program filled with exciting activities, theme days and workshops, providing a safe and homelike environment for school-aged children. The centres and programs are detailed below.

Booking Information

Bookings close on Friday 21 September 2018 at 4:30pm. A late booking fee of $36 applies after this date per child, per centre.
Book through the Smart Fees website.

Programs, Centre Locations and Dates

The following school holiday programs run from Tuesday 2 October 2018 to Friday 12 October 2018. Centres are open 7am-6pm Monday to Friday.

Ringrose OOSH – 18-36 Ringrose Avenue, Greystanes

This program is for children aged 5 to 9 years (Single Digits).

Calmsley Hill Farm

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will be travelling to Calmsley Hill Farm by bus to experience some farm life.  The children will get to feed the animals and even have a ride on a tractor. Please arrive at the centre no later than 8.30am. We will return no later than 3pm. Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: The young people will be travelling to Calmsley Hill Farm by bus to experience life on a farm.  The young people will get to feed the animals and ride around on the tractor. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9am, the young people will return by 3.30pm at the latest. Young people are to bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Movies

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will be travelling to Reading Cinemas at Auburn by bus to watch the latest G or PG movie. No money to be brought in. Please arrive at the centre no later than 8.30am. We will return no later than 3pm. Please pack morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and any additional snacks to take to the movies in a small bag as the candy bar will not be available.

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Young people will be travelling to Reading Cinemas at Auburn by Private Bus to watch the latest G or PG movie. The young people will be able to vote between the two most popular movies to watch, and will be given a complimentary popcorn and drink. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9:00am. We will return no later than 2:30pm. Young people are to bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Tie Dye T-shirt Day

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will be provided with a white shirt and various materials to tie dye and decorate it any way they like. Please send your child with a set of clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Please arrive at the centre no later than 10:00am. Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Crazy Science Day

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Held at the centre, the children will engage in various themed science experiments. They will learn the chemical reactions that take place to create reactions such as those seen in, Volcanoes and slime. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9:30am. Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Dress Up Disco Day

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Held at the centre, the children will attend a disco, held by our friends at Bop Till You Drop. This fun and engaging day encourages the children to get involved, find their rhythm and sing and dance along to some of their favourite songs. The children are encouraged to dress up for this fun show!  Please arrive at the centre no later than 9:30am. Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Ultimate Family Entertainment

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: The children will travel to Ultimate Family Entertainment Centre at Northmead by bus to engage in Australia’s largest indoor play centre/jungle gym! With over 750 square metres of trampoline, foam pits, and climbing walls, there is lots of fun to be had! Please arrive at the centre no later than 8.30am. We will return back to the centre no later than 2:30pm. Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Muffin Makin' Station

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: At the centre the children will have the opportunity to create their own muffin with various ingredients. The children will have the opportunity to experiment with various sweet and savoury ingredients. The children will then have their creations for afternoon tea. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9:30am. Please pack morning tea and lunch.

Laser Tag Warriors Workshop

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: Children will enjoy 2 hours of outdoor laser-tag challenges at the centre, with objective style missions such as capture the flag or king of the hill. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9.00am. Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Multicultural Lunch Day

5 to 9 years - Single Digits: A day at the centre, the children are welcome to come dressed in their multicultural themed outfits and colours to enjoy various activities. A   lunch will be provided, which the children will prepare throughout the day. So that your child does not miss out on the fun, please arrive at the centre no later than 10:00am. Please pack morning tea and afternoon tea.

DIY Herb Garden Workshop

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Young people will have the opportunity to create their very own take home herb garden. They will be provided with a variety of herbs to mix and match to their own desire. Promoting healthy eating habits and sustainability in cooking. Young people are to bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

My Dance Crew Workshop

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Presented by Nathan Short, this awesome in centre workshop gets children to experience a huge variety of dance styles, dancing in teams, formations, scattered around the room, on their own and with a friend. All ages and skill levels are supported to move confidently, perform fearlessly and express themselves freely. Please be at the centre no later than 10am. Young people are to bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Auburn Botanical Gardens Workshop

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: A chance to learn about and experience parts of Cumberland Council’s Local Government Area. The young people will enjoy a fun and active day out at the Auburn Botanic Gardens, rain or shine! They will be given opportunity to engage in sports activities, relax in the open spaces and enjoy lunch provided at the Picnic Area. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9am. We will return back to the centre no later than 2:30pm.Please pack morning tea and afternoon tea.

Mosaic Art Workshop

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Young people will all be given the opportunity to be part of creating a mosaic master piece. Using all different colours shapes, they will be able to let their creative side out making something unique! Please be at the centre no later than 10am.Young people are to bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

King Pin

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Travelling by private bus to King Pin North Strathfield the young people will be given the opportunity to immerse themselves in hours of fun! A game of bowling, 30 minutes of arcade games and a game of laser tag all included in the day. Please arrive at the centre no later than 9am. We will return back to the centre no later than 2:30pm. Please pack morning tea and afternoon tea.

9D Cinema

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: Young people will be immersed in a 9D interactive experience in a cinema truck at the centre. Hold onto your seat as you go up a roller coaster or feel the wind blowing in your hair as you free fall down a cliff. The young people need to be at the centre no later than 10am. Young people are to bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Colour Run

10 to 13 years - Double Digits: The Colour Run is a colour crazy day for walkers and runners through a challenging obstacle course. The young people are to wear white shirts and at each activity station they’ll be covered in a different colour; yellow, blue, green, purple and pink, with a “Colour Extravaganza” at the end of the course. The colour dust is natural and safe. Please arrive at the centre no later than 10am. Young people are to bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
