Pippita Rail Trail

The first look at the proposed Pippita Rail Trail is now open to the community to review and provide feedback. The design project, funded by Transport for NSW’s Get NSW Active program, proposes an improved and accessible walking and cycling link between Lidcombe Train Station and Sydney Olympic Park. Council is also hosting a community pop-up session at Lidcombe Station on Saturday 2 March, allowing residents the opportunity to view the design and provide their thoughts in person. I invite and encourage all community members to take some time to look over the masterplan and concept designs, as your valuable feedback will help shape this exciting project. Submissions close: 6pm, Sunday 10 March 2024.

Clean Up Australia Day

This Sunday (3 March), I will be joining the community effort for Clean Up Australia Day. Council will be hosting a number of community events to mark Clean Up Australia Day. The annual day is one of the largest community-based environmental events that encourages local communities to come together to clean up their local area. Together we can make a difference by cleaning up our local parks, creeks, and rivers across Cumberland. Residents can sign up to events in Pemulwuy, Merrylands, Lidcombe, Wentworthville and Chester Hill. Don’t forget to stay back and enjoy the free BBQ afterwards. All equipment will be provided.
