Message from Mayor Lake
Remembering Eric Tweedale
On behalf of Council, I offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Eric Tweedale who passed at the great age of 102. Eric was the oldest living Wallaby and beloved patron of Western Sydney Two Blues Rugby Union Club who displayed an unwavering dedication and commitment to sport on and off the field. Council named the Granville Park Stadium the Eric Tweedale Stadium in his honour. It stands as a tribute to his legacy and extraordinary life.

Last week, I joined the President of Local Government NSW (LGNSW), Clr Darriea Turley AM as she visited Cumberland as part of the LGNSW roadshow. Together we discussed issues affecting Councils including the housing crisis, renewable energy, the cost of living and the financial sustainability of Councils. LGNSW is the peak organisation that represents the interests of Councils in NSW.
