Accessibility

What are we doing?

To help us make the Cumberland City Council website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

We're also working proactively on our website to upgrade to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the Cumberland City Council website.

How are we doing?

We've worked hard on the Cumberland City Council website and believe we've achieved our goal of Level AA accessibility. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this, but if you do find any problems, please get in touch.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

Cumberland City Council acknowledges the Darug Nation and People as Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Cumberland Local Government Area (LGA) is situated and pays respect to Aboriginal Elders both past, present and future. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. Cumberland City Council also acknowledges other Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander Peoples living in the Cumberland LGA and reaffirms that we will work closely with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to advance reconciliation within the area.
