American Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua) is a deciduous tree native to North America, particularly the southeastern United States. It is commonly known for its attractive foliage, distinctive fruiting structures, and colorful autumn foliage.
A very popular ornamental deciduous tree.
Its leaves are 5 star in shape and are green when first produced.
It has distinctive red foliage during autumn, after autumn the tree will drop its leaves for winter, producing new leaves again in Spring.
A low maintenance tree - that is medium-large in size, growing between 15 to 20 metres.
