Eid Lighting Competition 2026

Join your neighbours in lighting up Cumberland with the spirit of Eid. 

Light Up Cumberland and Celebrate Eid!

Residents are invited to take part and illuminate their homes or businesses with dazzling displays that capture the joy and spirit of Eid.

To take part, simply create your own festive, outdoor Eid lighting display and submit your entry to Council, including your address and a photo of your decorations. Let’s come together to celebrate Eid, share cultural pride, and fill our streets with light and unity!

Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

Cumberland City Council acknowledges the Darug Nation and People as Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Cumberland Local Government Area (LGA) is situated and pays respect to Aboriginal Elders both past, present and future. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. Cumberland City Council also acknowledges other Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander Peoples living in the Cumberland LGA and reaffirms that we will work closely with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to advance reconciliation within the area.
