What is Web Chat?
Web Chat is a free online service to help residents find the Council information they need.
It can be used instead of picking up the phone, visiting a Customer Service Centre or searching through our website. It is multilingual so that users can communicate in their preferred language.
People may be familiar with other web chats. They are a common online customer service option used by businesses across Australia and around the world.
Web Chat during business hours
Council’s Web Chat is available during business hours – Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.15pm.
If residents use the service during these hours, they will be answered in real time by a real (human) Customer Service team member.
Web Chat during non-business hours
Council is trialling its Web Chat during non-business hours – Monday to Friday, 4.15pm to 8am, and all weekend and public holidays.
If residents use the service during these hours, they will be answered by an artificial intelligence (AI) service.
We welcome your feedback on the new web chat service during this trial. Please share your feedback using this form.
Your comments and suggestions will help us to improve our service.
