Guildford Swim Centre is undergoing an exciting transformation to deliver a new state-of-the-art Aquatic Centre for the local community.
The redevelopment will provide a range of new facilities including an indoor program pool and outdoor pool.
These new facilities will provide for a range of age groups and participation levels through services and programs including learn to swim, recreational swimming, gentle aquatic-based exercise and rehabilitation.
Guildford Swim Centre's last day of operation before the site closed for the redevelopment was Sunday 30 June.
Since the closure, demolition of the existing site has now been completed and the DA has been on exhibition and is currently awaiting determination.
The project concept design is nearing finalisation and Council is now preparing to go to market for the construction tender in the coming months.
Once the construction contract is awarded, the aim will be to commence construction of the new facility at the start of Q2, 2025 and an accurate construction timeline will then be able to be determined.
Regular updates will continue to be provided to the community throughout the planning, design and construction phases of the project.
This project is jointly funded by Council and the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program.
