Laurie Ferguson Water Playground

The Laurie Ferguson Water Playground is a vibrant and welcoming community space designed for fun, exploration and active play.

Located in Granville Park - 2 Montrose Avenue, Merrylands

This modern water playground offers a refreshed and engaging water play experience, creating a place where children can move, play and cool off while families spend time together outdoors.

The upgraded splash park features a larger and more dynamic splash zone with a variety of interactive water elements that encourage creativity, confidence and physical activity. Designed to cater to children of different ages and abilities, the space supports imaginative play in a safe, accessible and inclusive environment.

Visitors can also enjoy improved amenities, including modern change facilities and toilets, making the playground comfortable and convenient for families planning a longer stay.

The playground proudly retains the name Laurie Ferguson Water Playground, honouring Laurie Ferguson, who served as the Member for Granville in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1984 to 1990. This continued naming recognises local history and reflects the strong connection between place, people and community.

As part of Cumberland’s ongoing investment in high quality public spaces, the Laurie Ferguson Water Playground provides a setting for play, connection and outdoor enjoyment - a valued community space that reflects the pride we have in our City.
