The 25-metre pool at Granville Swim Centre will be temporarily closed for maintenance from Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July 2026, and will reopen on Saturday 18 July 2026. All other areas of the centre will remain open for our members and visitors to enjoy.

Cumberland City Council is pleased to celebrate the people and heritage of our local area through the Cumberland Local Heritage Awards.

Cumberland Local Heritage Awards Program 2026-2027

Cumberland City Council is seeking nominations for the Cumberland Local Heritage Awards Program 2026-27. The Cumberland Local Heritage Awards Program 2026-27 demonstrates Council’s appreciation for those who have an active role in preserving and maintaining Cumberland City’s heritage or an interest in learning about local history.

The theme this year is “Change', how has history changed us and how are we changing history?" Heritage is not fixed in the past; it is a living force, constantly evolving, shaping our present and guiding our future.

The award program celebrates all aspects of our heritage, including buildings, landscapes, sacred sites, artefacts and artworks, film, stories, people, groups, and ceremonies.

Cumberland City Council is pleased to offer support to owners of local heritage listed items across the Council area.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

Cumberland City Council acknowledges the Darug Nation and People as Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Cumberland Local Government Area (LGA) is situated and pays respect to Aboriginal Elders both past, present and future. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. Cumberland City Council also acknowledges other Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander Peoples living in the Cumberland LGA and reaffirms that we will work closely with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to advance reconciliation within the area.
