Cumberland’s long term plan consists of a cascading set of plans, strategies and reports that translate high level community vision and aspirations into actionable activities that are aligned with community priorities, are sustainably resourced and all progress is measured and reported.
Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework
What is the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework?
Under the NSW Local Government Act 1993, councils are mandated to adopt a robust approach to planning and decision-making through the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework.
This Framework emphasises that IP&R should be at the core of all Council plans, activities, resourcing decisions and improvement strategies and provides a clear picture of the council’s direction for the future and how it plans to achieve its goals, through various plans and strategies by answering:
- Where are we now?
- Where do we want to go?
- How will we get there?
- How will we know when we have arrived?
Why is IP&R important?
IP&R guides long-term decision making, service delivery, asset and workforce management and financial efficiency, ensuring Council operates in a sustainable and accountable manner.
