Artist in Residence at the Peacock Gallery and Auburn Art Studio - October 2025
Pheany has been exploring the human body and cultural identity, particularly through ceramic sculptures. She is keen to share her personal experiences and navigate feelings of guilt, shame, and curiosity through the tactile and unpredictable medium of clay, which is teaching her to let go.
Key themes in her work include women’s health and biology, Khmer iconography, and connections to nature.
Her artistic practice spans various mediums, guided by project themes and briefs.
Pheany is also passionate about developing community art projects in Western Sydney and aims to establish a community studio space to foster learning, collaboration, connection, and support for local artists. She is focused on cultivating a practice that is locally responsive, collaborative, and sustainable.
