Recognising Excellence in Local Sport

Do you know a local athlete, coach, volunteer, or team making a big impact in community sport?

Now’s the time to nominate them for the Cumberland Mayoral Sports Awards!

  • Coach of the Year
  • Volunteer/Administrator of the Year
  • Sporting Organisation or Club of the Year
  • Inclusion and Diversity in Sport Award
  • Outstanding Contribution to Community Sport

Let’s celebrate the people who inspire, lead and shape sport in our community.

Nominations

To make a nomination, please complete the following steps:

  1. Download the nomination form.
  2. Complete your application in PDF or print, complete and scan.
  3. Attach the completed form and any supporting documentation (if required, maximum 2 pages) in an email to civicevents@cumberland.nsw.gov.au

Nominations close Sunday 1 February 2026.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

Cumberland City Council acknowledges the Darug Nation and People as Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Cumberland Local Government Area (LGA) is situated and pays respect to Aboriginal Elders both past, present and future. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. Cumberland City Council also acknowledges other Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander Peoples living in the Cumberland LGA and reaffirms that we will work closely with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to advance reconciliation within the area.
