Opening of Merrylands Civic Square on Friday 4 August 2023

The long-awaited $11 million Merrylands Civic Square officially opened to the public on Friday 4 August, offering residents and visitors a bustling state-of-the-art multifunctional public space.

Located in the heart of Merrylands, this space connects Merrylands Road to McFarlane Street, revitalising the town centre into a meeting place for the community, fostering social engagement and offering a range of activities.

The public space features large trees and landscaped areas, art, furniture and amenities including bike racks, water feature, smart bins, smart light poles, tables and benches. Merrylands Civic Square is a place for cultural gatherings and events, as well as social activities given its ideal location in the heart of Merrylands and proximity to local retail outlets and businesses.
