Beat the Heat - Resources

Heatwaves are expected to become hotter, longer, and more frequent in future, and Western Sydney is at greater risk than other areas of Sydney.

Heat stress can be a major health issue in the harsh Australian Summer. Western Sydney is particularly hot due to high rates of urbanisation which induces a heat island effect. To ensure you don’t suffer through Summer, Cumberland City Council has partnered with WSROC and neighbouring Councils to support the development of the Heat Smart Tool Kit.

Explore the Heat Smart Tool Kit (PDF, 2.5MB) to help you plan, prepare and respond to extreme heat and heatwaves.
