Hoop Pine (Araucaria cunninghamii)

Hoop Pine (Araucaria cunninghamii) is a tall evergreen coniferous tree native to northeastern Australia, particularly in Queensland.

A large tree growing up to 50 metres high.

Virtually odour-less (contrary to other species of pine trees).

Common in tropical Queensland and found along the East coast of Australia and in Papua New Guinea.

Widely planted in Australia as an ornament and in timber plantations.

Growth of this tree is slow.

Special uses of this tree: shade tree, street tree, windbreaker.

Has noninvasive roots.

Suitable in full sunlight.

Drought and pollution resistant.
