Join the BIG Summer Reads at Cumberland City Council Libraries!

Get ready for a summer full of stories, adventure, and prizes! The BIG Summer Reads is a fun and free reading challenge opened to readers 0 to 18 years.

Just sign up and keep reading over the summer, whether you borrow a book, listen to an audiobook, or someone reads to you, it all counts!

How it works

Registration opens on the 1 December to join in, use the link below and visit any Cumberland City Library, where you will receive a starting pack.

  • From 1 December 2025 to the 31 January 2026, read and log your books (or audio books)
  • Complete reading challenges to get your name into weekly prize draws
  • Borrowing will also provide you with an opportunity to enter the National prizes.
