Hop on over and join us at Central Gardens Nature Reserve for a vibrant, joyous Easter celebration. Enjoy the magic of the season and create special Easter celebration memories in the beautiful environment of the Gardens.

Enjoy appearances from the Easter Bunny along with many fabulous activities, including our new Hop and Seek Adventure*. This Easter egg search is a relaxed, at your‑own‑pace activity where you collect colourful eggs as you explore the park. Follow the paths, look around the displays and spot the eggs hidden in sweet little places along the way. There’s no racing or competition – just a fun outing, some laughs and the simple excitement of a sweet treat.

Activity Details
Face Painting Step into a world of colour and imagination at our free face painting stall. Our talented artists transform little faces into butterflies, bunnies, superheroes, and sparkling spring creatures, each design a tiny work of art.
The Easter Bunny Keep your eyes peeled the Easter Bunny will be hopping through the gardens all day! Enjoy surprise meet‑and‑greets, quick photo moments, and cheerful waves as the Bunny spreads Easter joy.
Hop and Seek Adventure* Join the ultimate garden quest! Collect colourful plastic eggs hidden throughout the grounds, then trade your full basket for a scrumptious chocolate bunny. A playful challenge for curious explorers of all ages. Registrations required
Craft and Interactive Activities

Let creativity bloom in our craft corner, where kids can make and decorate their own Easter creations.

Activities include:

  • Easter Bunny headband.
  • Easter‑themed colouring‑in.
  • Create your own card of hope for Easter.
  • Kick and throw goal.
  • Table‑top basketball.

Eat and Drink

Our food vendors bring favourites, modern twists, and dishes made to share.

Nearest train station/bus stop?

Merrylands Train Station is an 8-minute drive. From the station, take a bus and get off at Betts Road Bus Stop (5-minute walk).

Parking

Where can I park?

Parking is available in the carpark area located in the park. Access is via Merrylands Road. Additional street parking is available on Paton Street and surrounding streets. Please observe parking signs and avoid resident driveways.

Frequently asked questions

Can we bring our own food? You can bring your own food. Food options will also be available at the event.

Vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free options? Please check with food vendors if unsure.

Can we bring alcohol? No. Central Gardens Nature Reserve is an alcohol-free zone.

Can I smoke or vape at the event? Not encouraged. Please do so outside of the park.

Shade shelter/marquee? Not permitted for safety reasons.

Is the event free? Yes. No tickets required.

Is it family friendly? Yes.

Prohibited items: Airhorns and silly string; animals and pets (except authorised assistance animals); alcohol; glass; fireworks/flares/explosives; illegal substances; poles/sticks/banners/flags; weapons/knives; suburb/gang related clothing.

Is this event pet friendly? Pets are not permitted in Central Gardens Nature Reserve (except authorised assistance animals).

What happens if it rains? Council may cancel or postpone due to adverse weather. Updates will be provided via Council social channels. To confirm event status call Events Team on 02 8757 9020.

Can I be a stallholder? Applications have closed.

Are ATMs available? No. Vendors accept cashless payments.

Lost property: Report to event staff during the event. After the event, contact events@cumberland.nsw.gov.au. For significant value items, report to Police.
