Council’s annual Australia Day event returns to Holroyd Gardens on Thursday, 26 January 2023 from 6 pm to 9 pm.

The Koomurri for arts and culture workshops are suitable for all ages with Boomerang and Coolamon painting, have a look at the cultural artefacts and enjoy the Didgeridoo performances.

How to get to the event
Use public transport
We encourage patrons attending Australia Day to catch public transport.

Ride your bicycle
There are bicycle racks at the event for you to chain your bicycle to.
Travel by car
Street parking is available in surrounding streets around Holroyd Gardens. Please observe parking signs.
Accessible parking is available at the Holroyd Gardens car park, Walpole Street, Merrylands
Conditions of entry
Bag checks and entry conditions
Entry and activities at the event are free.
There will be bag checks conducted at the entry point (Walpole Street) by security.
Persons are prohibited from entering with the following items:
- Air horns
- Alcohol
- Animals (except for authorised guide dogs/companion dogs)
- Clothing which is Suburb or Gang related
- Drones
- Fireworks, flares or explosives
- Glass
- Illegal substances
- Poles, sticks and banners/flags
- Weapons or knives
Entry will be refused to persons who are intoxicated and/or disorderly, who do not cooperate with staff or Police, or who do not comply with bag checks.
BBQ's are not permitted at this event.
COVID safe event requirements
- All persons entering the park will need to comply with any health restrictions at the time the event is being held.
- Security will ensure compliance for patrons to enter the park.
Accessibility
Holroyd Gardens is an accessible park although some of our activities may need to be accessed over grassed areas.

In the case of heavy rain, the event may be cancelled.

Alcohol free zone
Holroyd Gardens is a public space and is an alcohol-free zone. Bag checks will be conducted at the entry points and any alcohol found will be confiscated by Security.
Pets
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed inside Holroyd Gardens.
