Cumberland City Council's Seniors & Disability Services is hosting two FREE events to celebrate carers, build understanding of dementia, and connect our community with local support services.
Together We Care – Cumberland Carers Luncheon
Where: Club Merrylands - 65 Newman Street, Merrylands

Time: 11:30am to 2pm
Cost: Free

Educational Dementia Immersive Experience (EDIE)
Where: Allan G Ezzy Community Centre
When: Thursday 15 October 2026
Time: 11:30am to 12:30pm
Cost: Free
Experience Dementia Australia's virtual reality program and gain insight into what it may be like to live with dementia. Light refreshmentes provided
This program is not suitable for:
- People with a diagnosis of dementia.
- People with epilepsy.
- People with seizures.
- People with vertigo or similar (neurological) conditions.
Terms and Conditions
- Residents aged 65yrs or over (50yrs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) and People with Disability aged 18yrs or over and their carers living within the Cumberland City LGA.
- If you have Flu like symptoms, please do not attend.
- Bookings open 21 September 2026 and close on 7 October 2026 or once booked out.
- Dietary requirements submitted at the time of booking are unable to be changed.
- If you do not attend this may impact your ability to book for future Seniors & Disability events provided by Council.
