Frequently asked questions

What is an AGU Handicap and how do I get one?

An AGU (Australian Golf Union) handicap is an official golf handicap that measures a player’s skill level and allows them to compete fairly in tournaments. It is issued through Golf Australia and managed via the GolfLink system. To obtain an AGU handicap, a player must:

  • Join a registered golf club affiliated with Golf Australia.
  • Submit scorecards for at least three rounds of 18 holes (or six rounds of 9 holes).
  • The club will then assess the scores and apply for the handicap through GolfLink.

Is there a cost to participate?

No, this is a free event for junior golfers aged 12-17 with an AGU Handicap.

Can parents or guardians attend the event?

Yes, parents and guardians are welcomed and encouraged to attend as spectators, cheer on their child, and enjoy the atmosphere of the day.

However, please note that participating in the tournament, complimentary lunch, players packs and prizes are all exclusively provided to the registered junior players only.

This allows us to dedicate all available resources to enhancing the experience for the young players, ensuring they receive the best possible experience, value, and support throughout the event.

What should participants bring on the day?

  • Your golf clubs
  • Your own pull buggies
  • Any personal gear you may need
  • A great attitude and a readiness to learn and play!

Is there a dress code for players?

Yes, all participants must adhere to the minimum standard of dress required during a tournament, in line with the PGA Regulations. This means players must:

  • Wear neat casual clothing or golf-specific attire – Denim is not permitted
  • Wear soft spikes on their golf shoes

Is there parking available at the venue?

Yes, free parking is available on-site at Woodville Golf Course.

What happens if the weather is bad?
