Lunar New Year 2023

Cumberland City Council will be celebrating the Lunar New Year with a weekend of festivities held from Friday 3 February to Sunday 5 February.

Event Details

The program will kick off with movies in the park on Friday night, followed by a concert on Saturday and a day full of activities, workshops and performances on Sunday.

Friday 3 february | 5pm to 9pm

Lunar Outdoor Cinema at Wyatt Park

Kick off your weekend with a free movie alongside a variety of food trucks with a range of food available for purchase. Disney Pixar’s "Turning Red” and Disney’s short film “Bao" will be showing.

Saturday 4 February | 6pm to 9pm

Lunar New Year Showcase at Auburn Central

Celebrate Lunar New Year with a free evening performance showcase, plus art activities, lots of lanterns, lion dancing and more.

Sunday 5 February | 10am to 12 noon

Lunar Local at Berala Community Centre

Enjoy a relaxed morning of kids arts and craft, culture, and connection with community. Meet friends and community organisations from Cumberland City celebrating Lunar New Year together. The morning concludes with lion dancing into the main street of Berala.
