Construction on the upgrade of Wentworthville swimming pool will begin later this month.
The project will see the construction of a new program pool, new change rooms and a café.
A lift will also be installed to allow people with disabilities to use the existing 50 metre pool.
‘I’m delighted that construction is finally starting on the new pool for Wentworthville,” Mayor Steve Christou said.
“It has taken a lot of work to get to this point and I know that residents have missed having this pool with the summer we’re having.
“Our residents deserve facilities that are modern and this upgrade at Wentworthville pool delivers just that.”
Mayor Christou said the upgraded pool would be completed in time for next summer.
“Construction is moving onsite, residents are going to see works happening and I’m looking forward to the pool opening later this year.”
