The national flag is being flown at half-mast at key council facilities across Cumberland City today.

This is to mourn the death of three Americans who lost their lives, battling the fires in NSW.

"We are lowering the national flag at key council facilities to honour the three Americans who lost their lives during a water bombing crash in NSW,” Mayor Steve Christou said.

"We thank our emergency services personnel and volunteers who continue to work around-the-clock, putting their own lives at risk to protect others, homes and property.”
