Cumberland City Council has launched a portal on its website designed to connect local job seekers with local businesses who have vacancies to be filled.

“The Employ Local initiative is another one of Council's support measures for our community to help navigate these challenging times,” said Mayor Steve Christou.

“At a time where businesses are retooling and staffing requirements are changing, this is intended to help link people with jobs near them.

“The website contains consolidated information on a number of businesses in our community that are currently hiring.

“I encourage eligible businesses to advertise their vacancies and invite job seekers to check out the listings.

“We are in the midst of a pandemic and this new normal is taking time to adapt to; Council is here to offer support and solutions for the Cumberland community to come out the other side.”
