International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) - 3 December, 2024 had the theme “Amplify the leadership of persons with disability for an inclusive and sustainable future”
An Inclusive Dance Showcase by participants from Council’s Lifestyle and Leisure Links Program was to be a highlight at this years’ Christmas in the Gardens Event.
Despite inclement weather, the dance performance was able to be relocated and still showcased for a more intimate audience of around 25 family members and friends.
The performance was uplifting, powerful and engaging.
It highlighted that Cumberland City is a place where individuals with disability can fully participate and thrive.
The group showed leadership by showcasing ability and evidencing it in a community-based setting.
