Generation STEM Program

Principals, Head Teachers, Teachers of any STEM related subject and Careers Advisors are invited to a virtual information session for the STEM Community Partnerships Program (STEM CPP), which is part of the Generation STEM initiative.

These sessions are a great opportunity to learn about the STEM CPP, and how to be involved as a participating school. Come along and find out how your school can benefit from the program!

This program is very flexible in its delivery and can be delivered as part of any Stage 4 or 5 STEM related subject. A key element of the program provides students with an opportunity to engage in STEM focused projects to address challenges faced by the local community. Other elements include funded excursions, career events, student workbooks and resources for teachers, NESA accredited Teacher Professional Learning, connections with industry and access to other CSIRO education programs. These opportunities will expose students to a range of different STEM opportunities and education pathways that lead to exciting local STEM careers.

Our 2024 Annual Report will be available soon. Previous year’s Annual Reports are available to view.

Here are some photographs from last year’s Showcases, where students present their projects to the community:

Who should attend?

We encourage Principals, Head Teachers, Teachers of any STEM related subject and Careers Advisors to attend to learn about how your school can benefit from this initiative.

Benefits of participating

Based on 2019-2022 Generation STEM evaluation report findings:

  • 97% of teachers reported an increase in STEM education awareness;
  • STEM CPP had the greatest impact on students who initially had a low interest in STEM.
  • Connections between local schools, local Industry and the broader STEM networks were enhanced;
  • The program resulted in heightened awareness of local STEM career pathways and opportunities; and
  • No cost to the school to participate.

Further details about program requirements will be presented at the information session, so we encourage you to attend and learn more. Please note STEM CPP is available to Stage 4 and 5 students in select NSW Local Government Areas (LGAs) only.
