Building Stronger Connections, One Chat at a Time
What a wonderful way to kick off our very first meet and greet session at The Granville Centre! It was such a pleasure to meet so many friendly and passionate locals who took the time to stop by, say hello, and share their thoughts about the works happening around Cumberland. These sessions are about more than just a chat, they're about building trust and working together to shape a city we can all be proud of. If you couldn't make it this time, don’t worry! The next session is on Thursday 8 May from 11:30am to 1pm at Guildford Laneway. I look forward to seeing you there!

Rolling Out the Red Carpet for Seniors!
Looking for a fun and relaxing outing? I’m thrilled to share that Cumberland City Council’s Seniors and Disability Services team is rolling out the red carpet with FREE seniors screenings! These sessions are all about enjoying great films, tasty snacks, and even better company. I encourage all our senior community members to come along to unwind and make the most of this special day out.

A Storytime to Remember – Reading Week Magic!
Council's very cute mascot, Poppy, recently made her way to Civic Park in Pendle Hill to launch her new book Poppy’s Day Out at the Pool. What a wonderful turnout it was! From Storytime under the trees to creative craft activities and nature play adventures, our littlest residents, and their grown-ups, had an afternoon full of fun, laughter, and imagination. Events like these are a wonderful way to bring our community together and spark a lifelong love of reading in our youngest learners.

Footpath Renewals
Council has recently completed footpath renewals at Belmont Street in Merrylands, and the Great Western Highway in Greystanes. Across these two locations, over 630m of footpath was resurfaced and new concrete was laid.
