Cumberland Council and City of Parramatta Council will play in a friendly cricket match at George Parry Oval, Mona Park this Saturday starting at 1pm.

Councillor Paul Garrard will captain the team for Cumberland Council and Deputy Lord Mayor Michelle Garrard will captain the team for the City of Parramatta Council.

The Cumberland team also includes Mayor Greg Cummings alongside a number of other Councillors.

“As neighbouring councils we have a healthy rivalry and a shared love of cricket,” said Mayor Greg Cummings.

“This has turned into quite the tradition, particularly with the former Holroyd Council and City of Parramatta.

“Following the council amalgamations in 2016, this will be the first match between Cumberland and the City of Parramatta. We’re feeling quietly confident.”

Residents are encouraged to come along and support their local teams.
