Mayor Steve Christou on behalf of Cumberland City Council has condemned a terror attack which killed three people inside a Notre Dame church in Nice, France yesterday.

“Our thoughts are with the victims and their families and we extend our condolences to the French people during this time of heartache,” said Mayor Steve Christou.

“We stand steadfastly against these acts of violence and there is absolutely no justification for taking lives and attacking places of worship.

“It is cowardly to attack innocent people who have their guards down within the sanctity of these spaces.

“We will remain united and determined in the face of these heinous acts and will not weaken our values of peace.

“You have the support and prayers from your fellow Australians at Cumberland City Council on the other side of the world.”
