We’re hosting two events as part of 2021 Youth Week from 16 April to 24 April.

Mayor Steve Christou said it’s a great opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views and enjoy local activities.

“Young people make up the foundation of our community. They are tomorrow’s leaders, professionals and artists, and their participation in all conversations are valued.”

“In the spirit of this year’s theme, Together More Than Ever, we are hosting a social event and story expo for young people aged 12 to 25.”

“I encourage Cumberland City youth to get involved over this two - day program. Activities include live performances, job readiness programs and storytelling.”

The events have been led, planned, and organised by local young people in Council’s Youth for Youth group. The annual initiative is partially funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.

“Council has been active in the youth space, with the upcoming launch of an education awareness campaign to combat the links between gaming and gambling,” Mayor Steve Christou said.

“The Odds on Youth campaign aims to raise awareness around the links between gaming and gambling and the relevant local support services available to young people.”

The Odds on Youth campaign is funded by the NSW Government.
