Cumberland City Council is proudly celebrating its senior residents with a lively and heartwarming lineup of activities at the 2025 Seniors Festival.

This year’s festival, themed “Time to Shine”, kicked off on Monday 3 March, with a dazzling Seniors Spectacular that sets the stage for an unforgettable two-week celebration of connection, joy, and community spirit.

The vibrant program offers something for everyone, featuring an exciting mix of events including a golf day, a picnic at Auburn Botanic Gardens, scenic bus tours, and engaging library programs. Each activity is designed to inspire, entertain, and create meaningful memories.

Cumberland Mayor Ola Hamed praised the festival, reaffirming Council's dedication to spotlight the invaluable contributions seniors make to the Cumberland community.

“Each year I look forward to celebrating our seniors and providing a full program of exciting activities where our seniors can be celebrated, feel connected and valued. Over these two weeks, I hope participants make new friends, embrace new experiences, and shine brighter than ever before!” said Mayor Hamed.

In addition to the main events, seniors can enjoy a movie screening, participate in an interactive workshop with Bunnings Warehouse, and take advantage of FREE hearing tests available at three locations across Council.

The festival will wrap up on a high note with an incredible Picnic Day Finale, where attendees can bask in the beauty of nature, groove to live music, enjoy belly dancing performances, and savour a delicious lunch provided by Council.

Cumberland City Council remains committed to supporting our seniors year-round with a wide range of services tailored to all fitness levels and lifestyles, including meal delivery, health support, shopping assistance, and more.
