Community members are invited to share in the creation of a collaborative artwork woven from preloved fabrics.
Get into mindfulness while celebrating Diwali through art making. Council and Wentworthville artist Rupa Parthasarathy invite you to join in the creation of a collaborative tapestry woven from preloved fabrics. These community tapestries will become a vibrant art installation in Friend Park on display during Council’s Diwali Festival.
The program is led by local artist Rupa Parthasarathy of Mindkshreta studio in Wentworthville, an arts studio with a focus on arts and creativity for enhancing physical and emotional well-being.
Bring your own fabric if you wish, but don’t worry if you can’t, materials will be supplied.
These community tapestries will become a vibrant art installation in Friend Park, Wentworthville.

If you’re not able to attend but wish to share your materials, you can donate preloved fabrics at any Cumberland Library branch, view Library Locations and Hours
Weaving community stories from preloved textiles. Get involved by donating your preloved fabric. Kindly donate clean clothes only – such as sarees, shirts, skirts and dresses, baby clothes, cultural clothing, doilies, scarves, shawls, tablecloths.
