Mayor Greg Cummings encouraged interested parties to register their attendance online at haveyoursay.cumberland.nsw.gov.au, where there will also be online participation opportunities for those unable to attend in person.
“Wentworthville and Guildford swim centres have served our community for 53 and 45 years respectively and it’s about time they get the upgrades they deserve,” Mayor Cummings said.
“We want to work closely with the community, swim clubs and pool users to deliver the best outcome to meet their needs and expectations.
“These consultation sessions will give participants the chance to view design concepts of the pool upgrades, provide feedback about what they currently value, identify what services they would like at their pool, and discuss improvements they would like to see at the swim centres.
“We have some absolutely essential upgrades we need to undertake to maintain the infrastructure and amenities. In addition we want to discuss with the community some additional options including the installation of accessibility ramps, upgrades of the entry areas, redesigned cafés, landscaping, street furniture and improved safety and centre visibility.
“Wentworthville and Guildford swim centres are part of the first stage of our Swim Centre Modernisation Program and we are currently reviewing all swim centres to identify opportunities for upgrades and the timing of when these works will be taking place.”
RSVP is essential at haveyoursay.cumberland.nsw.gov.au, engagement@cumberland.nsw.gov.au or 8757 9402.
