Picnic and Ping Pong Pop Up

Lidcombe residents, ratepayers and park-goers are invited to attend a Picnic and Ping Pong Pop Up on Saturday 9 February, where they can have their say on proposed upgrades to Remembrance Park.

“We're extending Remembrance Park and have plans to upgrade the park with brand new recreational equipment,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.

“We want to see how people use the park, in-situ. We want to know about your user experience and how we can improve it to ensure future park upgrades meet the needs of the community.

“Pack a picnic, try your hand at ping pong – there will be two ping pong tables on site – and if ping pong’s not for you, let us know what is. All feedback will be considered in the finalisation of the design of the plan.

“Similarly, if you’d like additional shade, seating and picnic settings, perhaps a barbecue area, this is your opportunity to tell us and help us finalise the design.

“If you are unable to attend the community forum, you will be able to view the proposed concept plan and submit your feedback online until Thursday 14 February at haveyoursay.cumberland.nsw.gov.au.

“But of course, we’d love to see you there, so to sweeten the deal there will be free cupcakes – and bottles of water – for the first 60 people who join us.”
