Get into mindfulness this Diwali through art making!

Cumberland City Council invites you to join Wentworthville artist Rupa Parthasarathy from Mindkshetra, a local creative wellness studio and social enterprise, for a free community workshop.

Participants will create small textile pieces using simple techniques like finger knitting and accessible materials such as wool.

The textile works made in the workshops will form part of a community yarn installation, wrapping trees in Wentworthville and unveiled during Council’s Diwali Street Festival at Friend Park on 1 and 2 November.

No prior art experience is required (ages 3+ recommended).

Workshop times

Both workshops will be held in Granville Centre Art Gallery on:

  • Saturday 18 October 2025 from 10am to 2pm
  • Tuesday 28 October 2025 from 3pm to 5pm
