Whether you are an enthusiastic home gardener or want to work in the horticultural industry, this course will help boost your gardening skills and knowledge. A course that is ideal for those considering a vocational pathway in Horticulture or further foundation skills development with project-based learning opportunities.

What you will learn:

You will learn the basics of gardening from soil and seeds to plant care and harvesting.

Topics include:

  • Basic garden maintenance
  • Soil improvement
  • Watering wisely
  • Mulching techniques
  • Pest and disease identification and treatment
  • Plant selection and design

Enrolment

A Unique Student Identification (USI) is required to participate in this class. The class is delivered by TAFE NSW and supported by Cumberland City Council. You will be contacted by both parties to confirm your spot and registration. This class is a Fully Government subsidised student training program CSO5555-V03.
