Cumberland Council has the September - October school holidays sorted with an action packed, two week long program for young people aged three to 18 years.

Most activities are free and the program is divided into two streams: all day vacation care or one-off events and activities.

Unforgettable experiences for young residents include:

  • Taking flight with a game of the Harry Potter inspired “Quidditch”.
  • Harnessing up for an elevated ropes course.
  • Getting arty with recycled craft at Cumberland libraries.
  • Diving into an intensive swim school holiday at one of our swim centres.
  • Kicking, passing, running and jumping through a sports clinic.

Mayor Greg Cummings said with the broad range of activities available across Cumberland, residents were sure to find something fun and affordable for their children to participate in.

“Cumberland Council wants to make it easy for young people to enjoy the school holidays and get the best out of the local area,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.

“Most of our school holiday activities are run free of charge for our residents and encourage children to be active with their imagination as well as physically.

“On top of the indoor library activities, Council offer a range of sporting and recreational options for children including dance workshops, rock climbing, skateboarding workshops and adventure courses.

“Our school holiday program was designed to be inclusive. Cumberland libraries will host an all abilities craft session for children in a friendly, sensitive and welcoming environment.

“I encourage everyone to make the most of the activities on offer in Cumberland these school holidays.”
