Cumberland Council’s playground upgrade in Scout Memorial Park, Granville, will be launched onsite at 2pm on Monday 14 May 2018.

“The park upgrade has been funded through the Council’s Capital Works Renewal Program and a $20,000 contribution from the NSW Government’s 2016 Community Building Partnership Program,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.

“Many people have told us they want a diverse range of green space and venues that encourage people to get outdoors and live a healthy, active lifestyle.

“Good physical and mental health can be aided by exercise and social activity. Park upgrades such as this one are an investment in the health and wellbeing of the Cumberland community.

“Playgrounds should be a source of fun and inspire a sense of community, and the upgrade delivers new play equipment that offers children favourite activities like swinging and climbing.”

The Scout Memorial Park environment has been further enhanced for park patrons with an informal sandstone seating wall that adds both design form and function, a picnic setting, new seating, native plantings, and shade trees.
