Cumberland Council has invested $1.7 million in upgrades at Guildford Park, making the amenities block more accessible for users of and visitors to the park.

The new amenities block was opened by Mayor Greg Cummings on Tuesday evening, following the completion of the project, which has seen the demolition of the previous amenities building and rebuild of a brand new amenities block.

The new amenities block includes change rooms, store rooms, an office space, male and female accessible toilets, and a kiosk.

“We are fortunate in Cumberland to have so many great playing fields where such a variety of different sports are played,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.

“Every week hundreds of Cumberland residents come together to play and watch sports.

“Council is committed to providing modern facilities that benefit the entire community to match our great passion and sporting ability.

“In addition to being the home of the Guilford County Soccer Club, Guildford Park is a place where our community come together to play cricket, football, netball, and utilise the great open space and play equipment.

“Guildford Park became part of Cumberland in May 2016, when the former Holroyd and Auburn City Councils merged, also taking in the former Woodville Ward of the City of Parramatta.

“Council have welcomed the opportunity to give the facilities of Guildford Park a new lease on life for the benefit of our new community.”
