Cumberland Council is asking the community to have their say on proposed shelter improvements and the development of a future masterplan for Civic Park, Pendle Hill.

Mayor Greg Cummings said Council is committed to providing clean and green open spaces that meet the needs of the community.

“Council is proposing to add a brand new roof to the large existing pergola structure in the park to provide additional shade and weather protection, as well as add brand new shelters to the five current picnic table settings,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.

“Civic Park is in a fantastic location for the Pendle Hill community; close to the main shopping strip, public transport and local schools. Council want to make Civic Park even more accessible for residents to utilise the park and make the most of being outdoors.

“The proposed features to Civic Park will allow the community to maximise their park usage throughout the different seasons and to cater for all types of events. As the weather starts to warm up we want residents to still be able to enjoy the park facilities but with extra protection from the sun.

“While these proposed upgrades will provide great benefits to residents in the short term, Council are also looking to the future and what else can be done to improve Civic Park.

“As such, there’s also an opportunity for you to share your ideas for the future development of the Civic Park Masterplan.”
