Cumberland Council is inviting residents to comment on the draft plans for Wentworthville town centre, which will be on public exhibition until Sunday 21 July, 2019.

The Wentworthville Centre planning proposal and draft planning controls will support the revitalisation of Wentworthville Centre, and reflect Council’s adopted Wentworthville Planning and Place Making Strategy.

Cumberland Mayor Greg Cummings said the plan will transform Wentworthville’s town centre into a modern place of commerce that will serve the local community well into the future.

“The community has been eagerly anticipating the revitalisation of Wentworthville, which will deliver a vibrant and modern town centre which reflects the distinctive energy of the local community,” Clr Cummings said.

“The Wentworthville Centre draft plan provides further details of the planning controls to support future development and revitalisation of the centre.”

“These plans complement other initiatives as part of the Wentworthville revitalisation, including new pedestrian links, new footpath paving, new seats and street furniture, public art, new trees and landscaping. The plans also support proposals for the future of the Wentworthville mall site.

“I encourage everyone interested in the future of Wentworthville to have their say on these plans before the closure date of 21 July.”

The community is encouraged to have their say at the following sessions:

  • Community drop-in session, Thursday 13 June (6-7.30pm), Wentworthville Library
  • Public Meeting, Saturday 22 June (2pm), Wentworthville Community Centre - presentation by Council staff, followed by Q+A.
